They are held in place by staking or crimping the lip of the yokes over to hold the universal joint cup in place. 

Also known as the “non- repairable” or “non-rebuildable” universal joints.

 

You would need a staking tool set and access to a press in order to secure these joints in place.

We do have a staking tool set available to purchase.
